Amazonite is named after the Amazon river, which has water-like colours that evoke the majestic and glimmering blue-green tones of the river. Amazonite is a soothing stone and is found only in one part of the Amazon Inas Gerais, Brazil. However, Amazonite is also found around the world, including, Mozambique, India, Madagascar, Russia, Australia, Canada and the United States.

Amazonite is a type of feldspar crystal that gets its stunning colour from a magical combination of lead and water. It can be translucent to opaque and ranges in colour from bright verdigris green to lighter shades of turquoise, with white, yellow, or grey pieces on occasion.
